Jag hade planer. Det här skulle bli en bra vecka. Jag skulle göra saker. Vara produktiv. Skriva min masteruppsats. Jobba. Smida planer för framtiden. Träna. Vara kreativ, social, ansvarsfull. Sen inledde badrumsgolvet med en hoppspark, och vann på knock-out i första ronden. Det finns trevligare sätt att spendera en tisdagmorgon…

Welcome
There are some who call me… Tim? Pronouns they/them. Former astrophysicist, current poet and storyteller, perpetual weirdo.
I intend to follow Mary Oliver’s Instructions for living a life:
1. Pay attention.
2. Be astonished.
3. Tell about it.
You are invited to follow along on my poetic life journey. This web page is mostly a blog where I irregularly share my poetry, recaps of adventures and general musings. For the most part I write in English, but occasional Swedish may occur. It’s been alive for 14 years and counting, although (like me) it has gone through some shape-shifting along the way.
For the latest posts, scroll down on this page. If you’re looking for a specific topic or post, you can find a search box and a tag cloud in the sidebar on this page.
If you’re curious about other pieces of art or science I’ve scattered across the internet, do take a look at my list of creations.
Well met, until our paths cross in Cyberspace or Meatspace. (Meatspace is my favourite, really. Hope to smell and touch you at some point.)

Convention aftermath and the Sandman Overture
Home from the biggest gaming convention of the year since a few days back. I had a splendid good time, as I usually do. To not be able to walk into a room without someone waving at me wanting to hug me or ask me to join a game. That…

Review: Chapterhouse: Dune
Chapterhouse: Dune by Frank Herbert My rating: 2 of 5 stars Finally finished with Dune! This book series became less and less interesting as it went on. A relevant idea concerning philosophy or religion here and there, perhaps, but other than that I was bored more than anything else. And…

Review: The Silmarillion
The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien My rating: 5 of 5 stars Half a lifetime later I return to this book, in its original language this time. And yes, it remains among my absolute favourites. If anything, I liked it even better this time around. There is so, so much I…

Bevismaterial
Det var som att leta efter bevismaterial. Bevis för vad? Inga brott. Bara din existens. Din doft bleknar trots att vi inte tvättar, men dina ord finns kvar. De var det vackraste med dig, och är kanske det jag saknar mest. Bitar av en låt. Ett brev från en rollspelskaraktär.…

For the sake of updating
Coming back to life from a cold that had me knocked down for a couple of weeks. Bleh. I spent the fever-dazed time doing productive things such as sleeping, organising my digital bookshelf, losing work-hours, and pimping my blog a little. Look up there! There’s a link to a page…

Look! A galaxy!
Those are stars. Red giants, specifically. In a dwarf spheroidal galaxy called Leo II. I know that the diagram doesn’t make much sense to most people, unless they happen to be astronomers versed in photometry, but trust me. I’m so happy I’m just about dancing around like an idiot. Because…

Love and stuff
Happy Valentine’s day. I was about to feel bitter about the whole thing, but then wonderful people who I’ve had the privilege to befriend practically bombarded me with love. So even after a hard day’s work I’m left with a feeling of thankfulness instead. Even though many of the aspects…

Under pressure
Love’s such an old-fashioned word And love dares you To care for The people on the edge of the night And love dares you To change our way of caring about ourselves This is our last dance What does love even mean? Winterdragon

Asterism
Today? I’ve helped program an asterism into the planetarium in tribute to a dead hero. I’ve also read a fair bit of Almagest, a book written around 150 A.D. by Ptolemy which concerns the cosmological world-view of the time. Arguments for geocentricm, a spherical Earth, fixed stars, and things like that.…
