If I could drag my bones across the Earth
If I could find a lasting state of bliss
If I could cross the space between us
In a word, or in a kiss
But my bones are way too heavy
And the space is just too vast
And in my ever-changing heart
Nothing seems to last
If I could fly my bones above the Earth
If I could see this just the way it is
If I could be prepared to let you go
With a word, or with a kiss
But my bones are always drifting
So far above my eyes
So that my ever-changing heart
Is lost among the skies
I’ll plant my bones into the Earth
I’ll take the truth for what it is
Until all it takes to be at home
Will be a word, or just a kiss
My bones will find some peace
My love will grow so vast
That in my ever-changing heart
I’ll close the space at last
Love and poetry,
