Sometimes I think I’d like to breathe the air
I could go out and meet the world outside
But then I think I’d better stay inside
Where I am safe from people who would stare
Sometimes I think I’d like to see the sun
Above the earth, and watch the things that grow
But then I think I’d better stay below
The ground, where I will never have to run
Sometimes I think I’d like to hear my voice
And say what has been on my mind for years
But when I’m mad my eyes fill up with tears
And when I speak my words come out as noise
My life has been a dream upon a shelf
But soon I think I’d like to be myself
Love and frustration,
